I’m trying to get a little MIDI/OSC information out from a Ultrasound Transducer through a parallel port. The transducer is hardware I can plug into a MBAPlus Express and the Ultrasound software runs on a PC.

I have generated a simple Midi/OSC file, but only certain runs and not all the details. Here is the Midi file:

The question I have is the port on the Ultrasound software should be set to the same port as the Ultrasound software is on. So the port created above is the same as the port on the Ultrasound software.

Instead of the port on the Ultrasound program I get these errors:

What would have caused the first error is I believe what had stopped me from finding the correct port from the comments (opsect 0x80)

I guess I’m wondering if there is some way to generate a MIDI/OSC file other than what I was doing. Maybe a sequencer? I’m just not really sure.

My question is how do you start sending MIDI with code? I have a project where you can record your keystrokes with the keyboard on your computer and then play it back from another computer (which is where my issue is). I currently have a project that reads midi input from the keyboard and passes it to a sound card in the computer which plays back the sound from the midi stream. The problem I am having is that I can’t figure out how to send midi with code? How would I start sending midi to the sound card with code?

EDIT: I also would like to take a software synthesizer which sends midi into the project and allow me to play back midi from the software synthesizer. So another question is how do I start sending midi with code?

Creates a fully functional sound synthesizer.
Inputs:
MIDI In – The MIDI stream to be sent to the port.
